How to care for boxing wraps?
Your boxing wraps aren't just a piece of cloth—they're your silent guardians, protecting your hands from injury. But be warned: if you don't take care of them, they can quickly lose their champ-like look (and smell). Here are a few tips:
Wash after every workout – Boxing wraps absorb sweat like a sponge, and sweat creates unpleasant odors. Throw them in the washing machine on a gentle cycle, but before doing so, secure the Velcro fasteners so they don't damage the rest of the laundry. Wraps like to be treated with respect, not like old socks.
Do you take care of your clothes? Take care of the colors! – Boxing wraps can discolor in the first few washes, especially those in vibrant colors. To avoid your white shirts turning that "I remember every fight" shade, wash your wraps with clothes in similar colors.
Dry without the heat – Tumble drying is like sparring with an opponent who always wins, and wraps don't like that. Instead, lay them flat and let them air dry.
Store with class – Before storing your boxing wraps, make sure they're completely dry and neatly rolled up. Wet wraps invite mold and odor, and throwing them loosely into a bag creates chaos, not the way of a true fighter. Store them like a champion should: with respect and order.
Treat your boxing hand wraps with care, and they'll reward you with long service and reliability. Remember, a true master pays attention to every detail, even the smallest ones!
